All I want for Christmas,
Is to see WA’s border open wide.
I’ve got my double dose,
I just want certainty, a guide.
As to when I’ll see my family,
And book flights with no need to change.
I’d love a little reassurance,
Perhaps a rough date range.
I want to feel the Freo doctor,
While drinking beer as the sun dips.
To be drowned out by birds in Cottesloe,
While eating fish and chips.
I want to run the river paths,
And all my favourite trails.
To watch sunrise at Kings Park,
Visit Matilda Bay with all its sails.
I want to swim at Leighton Beach,
That cold blue water wakes you up.
And grab a coffee, salty hair.
As though no time was given up.
I want to see a game at Optus,
They finished that while I’ve been away.
Let friends guide me to new places,
How things have changed on Murray, George’s and Hay.
But most of all this Christmas,
I want to see my family.
To make up for two years lost time,
And make new memories.
To introduce my baby boy,
Let my toddler be re-known.
To be surrounded by those I love,
I just really want to go home.
