A poem perfect to gift for Mother’s Day, or any occasion, for a special mum in your life (or even yourself).
The poem reads:
You held me, before anyone knew I was held.
Two hearts beating from the same life source,
Quietly and without fanfare you grew me.
Nourished by everything you had to offer.
Your rhythm was my own.
I knew your heartbeat, indistinguishable to me from mine.
I knew the sound of your voice, the sway of your hips,
The smell of your skin, your warmth.
You were home to me before I could even say your name.
And when words began to form,
It was your name I called.
You that meant comfort and safety.
You that held me so I knew I was never alone.
You are my life-force.
My line back to who I am, where I’ve come from, who we are.
And my lifeline as I continue to go forward.
My safety net, my home base.
You are so much more than just a mother.
But as mine, to me, you are everything.
